Maho was born in Japan and joined the Cholmondeleys in 1997. She has also danced with Tanztheatre Christine Brunel, Retina, Akram Khan, Nigel Charnock, Carol Brown, Siobhan Davies, and with Theatre Rites and Arthur Pita. In 2002 she formed 10,000 Steps Dance Theatre Co and won the Bonnie Bird Choreography Award in 2003. Maho created a short duet, ‘Semi-Detached’ with Inn Pang Ooi which they performed at Greenwich Dance Agency in 2007. Her latest role was in The Cholmondeleys Dancing On Your Grave.
