Frauke Requardt

Frauke is a german choreographer and dancer based in London. She completed a Masters in choreography in 2003 and was an Associate Artist at The Place until 2006. Frauke has presented her work in the UK and abroad and made work during residencies in Colombia, Portugal, Italy and Germany. In her own work she employs a variety of artists from a wide range of disciplines (Live Artists, Jazz Musicians, Actors, Film Makers, Poets), who work alongside her professional dancers to createsurreal and darkly humoured theatrical dance performances. The most recent of these was ‘Roadkill Café’ performed at The Robin Howard Theatre at The Place, in April 2008.

She has also worked in a variety of settings and sites outside of the dance world, recently receiving the capture five award for a photographic installation in which she collaborated with film maker Joanna Callaghan. She is choreographing on a new show with theatre director Daniel Kramer, and is artist in residence at the Greenwich Dance Agency.
